My warmest welcome to Shenandoah’s new undergraduate and graduate students! I hope you enjoyed your summer and are ready to be challenged and delighted by your studies this coming year. You have arrived at Shenandoah at a very special time in our trajectory — at time in which our institution is academically, fiscally and reputationally stronger than ever.
Our faculty and staff members are exceptional, and are eager to work with you. I hope that you will take time to get to know them and also to get to know the many facets of Shenandoah. With six schools, more than 80 programs of study, and 4000 students, we are a diverse and stimulating university!
Because of the generosity of donors, SU has been able to make significant investments this year in purchasing world-class Steinway pianos, expanding our graduate health professions programs, breaking ground on a new health and life sciences building and acquiring 200 acres on the Shenandoah River that will serve as an outdoor laboratory. It is a great time to be at Shenandoah!
Whether you are studying on the main campus or elsewhere, I look forward to meeting you over the coming years, and to handing you your diploma when you graduate!

Shenandoah University
Welcome to the next few years of your life. I am so proud to be your SGA President for this upcoming academic year. I hope that all of you are getting comfortable in your residence halls and are enjoying meeting new people.
My advice to you all in these upcoming weeks is to get out of your room and be a part of as many of the fun trips and events as possible. All of you are going to have an amazing time meeting people and finding fun things to do. Make sure that you introduce yourself to your resident assistants because they are all amazing people and will be there to help you all year long. Also, get ready to study — this first semester is crucial to your future academic success.
I know all of you will do great things and welcome home. Go Hornets!
Joshua McCauley
SGA President
