Valentines Day is a very special time of the year and who better to share it with than someone you care most about. If you haven’t already made reservations or you have no idea what you want to do yet, then I have a few ideas for you.

On 25 Southern Indian Alley is a restaurant called One Block West. On Feb. 14, the restaurant is hosting a Valentines Day Menu. This will consist of a four-course set menu, but there are options for you to choose from each category. This dinner is $65 per person, and you need to make a reservation due to limited space so please call 540-662-1455.

I know that One Block West’s dinner could be pricy, but if you would rather do something different, I have more options for you.

Take a drive down Route 7 and visit a vineyard. From noon until 5p.m. is a wine tasting with a chocolate fountain at Veramar Vineyard at 905 Quarry Road in Berryville, Va.  They will provide their selection of wine, and you are able to sample as much as you want for only $15 per person. Reservations are required, but I think it sounds worthy enough. Veramar Vineyard is even giving away a diamond ring for your chance to win when you bring your significant other. Call for reservation at 540-955-5510.

If you are looking for something a little less fancy, there are still options.  The Alamo Drafthouse, at 181 Kernstown Commons Blvd., is hosting their own Valentines Day movie presenting “Winters Tale” along with a feast. This 7 p.m. movie will also include a four-course meal during the movie for $65 for “The Sweetheart Companion” ticket and $70 for “The Sweetheart Ticket”. There will also be a photo booth in the lobby at 5:30 p.m., just in case you want a photo to remember this special evening.

Of course, what is Valentines Day without flowers, right? Surprise your significant other with a bouquet of roses or other flowers if you know their favorite kind. There are two florists that I recommend: Smalts Florist and Winchester Florists.  They have reasonable prices, but just call for clarification or for questions on pricing. Smalts is located at 442 National Ave. and can be reached at 540-662-6292. Winchester Florists is located 23 N. Braddock St. and can be contacted by 540-662-2556.  Both places deliver if you are unable to pick up the flowers.

Make sure you do your best to show how much you care for them. But don’t forget to show your special someone that you love them and care every day of the year.
