The men’s lacrosse team will be entering this season with many unanswered questions and the hope that an influx of freshmen can help their program build.
The men’s lacrosse team finished 10 in the ODAC last season, finishing with an overall record of 5-11.
They will be looking to build off of progress last year and continue developing their program with the new additions of 12 freshmen led by goalie, Ben Judy.
“Having to see how the 12 freshmen make the transition from high school to college is an unknown.
“All 12 freshmen that we had come in this year are all playmakers and I’m very excited with how fast they are learning and finding their place on the team. Our freshman and only goalie Ben Judy is our rock on defense as he stands and faces every shot in practice. He will be a very big and deciding factor for our defense this year for sure,” said the team’s leading returner in scoring, Aaron Paul.
Not only will the team have to adjust to their youth, they will also have to adjust to a new system under new head coach Tim Marshall as he looks to continue to build the lacrosse program.
“We all absolutely love what Coach Marshall has brought to the table this year. He is definitely the right fit for us and I know he will take us nowhere but up.
“He has a vision of where he wants the program to go and we couldn’t agree more with him and we will give it our all to achieve our goals together,” said Paul.
“We have a motto that Coach Marshall brought in this year and it’s something we strive to do. We want to accomplish our goals of finishing with a record of over .500 and be B.E.S.T. (Better Every Single Time). As a team, that is what we want to achieve this season as we represent Shenandoah University Lacrosse,” said Paul.
The Men’s Lacrosse team opens up their season at Southern Virginia University on Feb. 15 as the team looks to start off the season on the right track.
