The Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3, is the world’s premier trade show for computer and video game related products. The expo will begin on Jun. 10 in Los Angeles. E3 is a huge event for fans of video games, since at this trade show new video games are announced and new consoles are unveiled. With E3 being roughly a month away rumors are already buzzing about which long-awaited sequels will be released and what new innovative titles will be unveiled. Here is a look into the top three rumored game releases for E3.
1. “Fallout 4”
It has been six years since the release of the massively successful “Fallout 3,” and many people feel since Bethesda just released “The Elder Scrolls” MMORPG, they have turned their focus back on to the “Fallout” series. The “Fallout” series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world after nuclear fallout. It has been praised for its immersive storyline and massive scope. Bethesda has become a paragon of creativity in the video game industry. Bethesda has been silent about the release of “Fallout 4,” and the only thing potentially confirming these rumors are some leaked documents that suggest the setting might be in post-apocalyptic Boston, Massachusetts.
2. “The Legend of Zelda” for the Wii U
After the lukewarm reception of the console game “Skyward Sword” and the critical acclaim of the handheld installment “A Link Between Worlds,” many wondered if Nintendo would make the Zelda franchise handheld exclusive. The rumor mill believes a new console “Zelda” will be unveiled at E3 and hopefully revitalize the Wii U by encouraging sales of the console.
3. “Resident Evil 7”
The “Resident Evil” series has gone through many makeovers and transformations since its beginning. What started as a horror-survival game became an action game with minimal horror elements, and some reporters believe that the latest installment will return to its chilling roots. The latest installment may be a Playstation 4 exclusive.
While these are three most popular and anticipated rumors surrounding E3, many people believe we can also expect the unveiling of a new “Halo,” “Far Cry,” “Batman: Arkham Knight,” and a new “Metroid.” Regardless of what is actually confirmed, this year’s E3 promises to deliver some exciting new games.
