9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Move-In Day Family Lounge. Brandt Student Center Game Room.

3:50 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. New Student Convocation. Track and Soccer Field behind Brandt Student Center.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Family Farewell Dinner. Allen Dining Hall.

8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The Amazing Face Race begins in Funk/Gore, Parker, Racey and University Inn lobbies. Students are invited to make the party circuit of all first-year residence halls and meet new people, 12 of whom are the subject of the Amazing Race. The evening includes prizes and s’mores over a fire pit.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. New Respiratory Care Student Orientation. Health Professions Building, Winchester Medical Center.

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. New Conservatory Student Orientation. Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre.

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. New Freshmen Entry Freshmen Student Orientation. Hester Auditorium.

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. New Business Student Reception. Stimpson Auditorium, Halpin-Harrison Hall.

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. New & Transfer Arts & Sciences Student Orientation. Armstrong Auditorium, Armstrong Hall. Afterwards, students will break into small groups by majors.

11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Business Student Panel Discussion. Stimpson Auditorium, Halpin-Harrison Hall

12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Navigator One-Stop Shop. Brandt Student Center.

12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. New Business Students Lunch. Allen Dining Hall

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. New Business Majors Meet with Faculty & Advisors. Various Locations.

2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Student Life 411 Session. Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre.

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Work Study Orientation. Hester Auditorium, Henkel Hall.

8:00 p.m. Residence Hall Meetings.

9:00 p.m. Late Night SU begins in the Funk/Gore lobby. Join with others in your residence hall to form Capture the Flag team for some friendly competition. Or stay in your dorm to make crayon arts for your dorm. Local Resturants will provide free pizza nad other late-night snacks.

Thursday, Aug. 21

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Arts & Sciences Student Advising in advisor’s offices.

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Yoga class taught by Tammy Battista.

East Campus Commons Ballroom. Shuttle van from BSC at 9:45 a.m. and 9:55 a.m.

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Shopping Shuttles runs every 15 minutes taking students to and from Brandt Student Center to shoppung centers along S. Pleasant Valley Aveune.

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Luau Pool Party at East Campus Commons. This is a social event for all new students.

3:00 p.m. Work Study Orientation. Hester Auditorium, Henkel Hall.

5:30 p.m. First- Year Seminar Pasta Party. Various locations. Check SU email for an email from your mentor.

6:30 p.m. “Stop Hunger Now” Food Packing Project. Shingleton Gymnasium.

8:45 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Bowling Night at Northside Lanes. Bus leaves at 8:45 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 22

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. New Arts & Science Students Meet with Faculty and Advisors. Various Locations.

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. XFit Class with Samantha Hirata. East Campus Commons Ballroom.

12:30 p.m. FYS on the Shenandoah. Shenandoah University River Campus at Cool Springs.

8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Friday Night Open Mic. Armstrong Concert Hall.

Saturday, Aug. 23

8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Mission Possible. Van departs from Goodson Chapel at 8:30 a.m.

9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Shenandoah Outdoor & Adventure Recreation Hike to Sky Meadows State Park. Trip is limited to 10 people.

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. BSC Blitz. Brandt Student Center Game Room.

4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Downtown Plunge. Buses run from Brandt Student Center to the Feltner Building every 20 minutes beginning at 4:30 p.m.

9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. The Heat Wave foam dance party. McKown Plaza (outside the student center; nearing the parking garage.)

Sunday, Aug. 24

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Zumba Class with Cindee Steele. East Campus Commons Ballroom.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. University Chapel @ Noon. Goodson Chapel

2:00 p.m. Matinee Movie at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema– “Let’s Be Cops.” Limited to the first 95 students who sign up. Students must take SU I.D. to the Alamo.

8:00 p.m. Residence Hall Meetings
