The Shenandoah women’s basketball team lost Saturday to Lynchburg College 44 to 73, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) showdown in Lynchburg, Va.
Lynchburg started strong, scoring eight unanswered points before Shenandoah’s Kirstyn Arcata broke their defense to put Shenandoah on the board. Shenandoah was unable to come back from the 27-12 deficit they were left with at the end of the first quarter.
Shenandoah kept up the fight in the following three quarters with quarter scores of 11-14, 10-17, and 11-15, but ultimately were unable to pull out a win.
Arcata lead Shenandoah in points, putting 11 on the board. Jordan Sondrol was close behind, with 10 points in only 14 minutes of play.
This loss puts the Lady Hornets at a 4-15 record, only 1-9 in the ODAC, leaving them 11 out of 12 in the conference. With only six games left in regular season, the ladies have little time to up their standing before playoffs begin.
The women will be back in action on the road against the Bridgewater Eagles on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
