The Shenandoah University women’s lacrosse team lost on Wednesday in a contest against the University of Mary Washington Eagles.
The Hornets lost their opening game 15-5. The Eagles began the first half scoring 10 goals, and the Hornets did not score any.
With the Eagles up 11-0, it was not until the 27:48 mark in the second half that the Hornets scored their first goal. The goal was scored by freshman, Jordyn Miller, who finished with two goals.
Despite holding the Eagles to five goals in the second half, the Hornets could not make a comeback from their early deficit
Freshman Madeliene Card made her debut as goalie, and made seven saves on 22 shots. The ground balls were even at 17, and the Eagles bested the Hornets on draws.
Freshman Cassie Arndt also scored her first college career goal.
