Students prepare for finals with junk food, caffeine

By Monica Baranko, Contributor

As exam week approaches, Shenandoah University students are stocking up on junk food and caffeine.

“I get like four to five hours of sleep,” sophomore exercise science major and biology and psychology minor Emily Conrad said about her nightly sleep schedule. Her finals diet consists of junk food and hardcore studying.

“I study the week before,” senior psychology major and criminal justice minor Stefan Kresslein said about how he prepares for finals. “I stick to a normal diet…maybe some caffeine pills.”

“My hardest final will definitely be sports nutrition,” said Conrad. She said that even after finals are over she will still be stressed until she learns her grades. “I just can’t wait to be able to enjoy summer,” she said.

Sophomores Emma Murphy and Emily Conrad study in the Brandt Student Center for their upcoming finals.

The general consensus is that after finals, students are wondering how much information presented in class they will use in their life. “Honestly, they’re a waste of time,” said Kresslein.

Most students would agree with Conrad when she said she’s just “ready for them to be over.”
