Remembering John Carlo III

Over this winter break, fellow Shenandoah University student John Carlo III passed away while home with family.

John Carlo was a senior studying business entrepreneurship and a staff member of Sodexo at The Grill. He was beloved by students and faculty alike.

There will be memorial services held to honor his life, and to share support.

The first of two memorial services being held for John Carlo will be held at Opequon Presbyterian Church (217 Opequon Church Lane, Winchester, VA, 22602) this upcoming Saturday, January 12 at noon.

According to an email send out by Rev. Dr. Justin Allen, “After the service, the family is hoping that people can stay to eat and share stories about John. All are welcome.” This service will be led by Rev. Davit Witt.

The second memorial will be at Goodson Chapel and Recital Hall, on our own Shenandoah University campus, on Tuesday, January 22 at 4pm. This will be held and led by Spiritual Life, with opportunity for students, faculty, family and community members to speak about their loved one and friend, John Carlo.

There is also opportunity to send cards to the family. Rev. Dr. Justin Allen said, “you can drop them off at either the Office of Spiritual Life (use the side entrance closest to Aikens Athletics Building) or Halpin-Harrison Hall Room 138 (office of Theresa Golding).”
