Local Non-profit seeks SU Student for Paid Internship

2021 intern and SU student Kasey Dutrow waves at the Potomac Eagle Train as it passes by
during PRKN’s summer kayaking event.

Potomac Riverkeeper Network, a non-profit organization based in Washington DC, has
partnered with Shenandoah University for the 2nd year in seeking an intern for the spring and
fall 2022 semesters.

The student chosen for this internship will have the ability to work remotely as well as several
exciting on-the-water events. I am assisting PRKN in search of my replacement and while a
major in Environmental Studies, Biology, or similar is not necessary, a love of nature and the
environment is!

This internship will last a full year, part-time during the spring and fall semesters, and full-time
over the summer. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the area, network with local
businesses, and enjoy the perks of working for a company that enjoys the beauty of nature.

As I come to the end of my year-long internship I’ve kayaked class 1 and 2 rapids, floated down
the Shenandoah River, networked with community organizers and leaders, and learned so
much about the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, and the laws that protect them.

If you are interested in learning more about the internship or would like to submit your resume
please reach out to kdutrow20@su.edu
