Celebrating the Flora of Virginia, a presentation of the book “Flora” to Shenandoah’s library by the Piedmont Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society, begins at 7 p.m. in Henkel Hall, Hester Auditorium. Talk Like a Pirate Dinner & Costume Contest is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Allen Dining Hall. Sept. 19 is National Talk Like a Pirate Day, so the Allen Dining Hall is hosting a pirate-themed dinner! There will be four Pirate food stations: Caribbean, Mediterranean, Hawaiian and Root Beer Floats. Dress like a pirate, too, for the Pirate Costume Contest. So bring your bonnie lass and enjoy some great food from ’round the world. Pay with your meal plan or cash/debit.

DMV2Go Mobile Unit will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot next to the Brandt Student Center. All students and employees can apply for or renew I.D. cards and drivers’ licenses; take road and knowledge tests; obtain vehicle titles, license plates, decals and transcripts; order disabled parking placards; update DMV records and much more. Celebración of Winchester from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. is a FREE family-oriented festival in downtown Winchester to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the region. Flu Shot Clinic is from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Health Professions Building Room 127. Wear a short sleeve shirt. Flu vaccine is $15 for students (show your SU I.D. card) and the fee will be billed to students’ accounts. Bowling for Boobs begins at 6 p.m. at Northside Lanes in Winchester. Join members of Kappa Epsilon pharmaceutical fraternity and bowl for a cure! General admission is $15 and includes shoe rental and three games. Help raise money so local breast cancer survivors can attend KE’s annual Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner free of charge. A portion of the proceeds also goes to the Young Survival Coalition. Sign up in advance as a team and get general admission plus T-shirts.
