Alright, Shenandoah. School is officially back in session and students are getting into the swing of things. That can mean only one thing, homecoming and homecoming court elections are upon us.
This year’s homecoming weekend promises to be a big event for current students and alumni alike.
Friday, Oct. 5, the Class of 1993 Time Capsule will be opened at 5 p.m. outside of Collet Hall overlooking the quad. This night will also include the annual Alumni Celebration Dinner starting at 6 p.m. for twenty dollars a person.
Saturday, Oct. 6, students will be able to see the unveiling of a new Buzzy statue at Noon outside the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center. The Homecoming football game against Hampton-Sydney will begin at 1 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 7, there will be a series of alumni sporting events all across campus starting as early as 9 am. This Homecoming Weekend is also the performance weekend for the conservatory’s fall musical “Urinetown.”

Homecoming Court Elections
This year, there’s a wide selection for the Homecoming Court.
The Freshmen Royalty includes Erin Askew, Lauren Butler, Paige Colvin, Kaytlin Greenawalt, Elijah Immanuel and Breanna Koopman.
For your Sophomore Royalty there are Raven Barter, Sierra Beaty, Tara Darcy, Cassie Didinger, Rachel Hock, Alex Kimble, Jordan Rivers, Claire St. John, Brianna Turner and Kelli White.
Junior Royalty only has two people so choose wisely from the list: Gerard DePhillips and James Turner.
Senior Royalty is a big list of big names this year! Chynna Beckett, Libby Beller, Regine’ Bumper, Alexandra Paganelli, Joey Lisko, Shamyra Wilkerson, Karisa Wrenn and De’Angelo Wynn.
There are some great candidates for Homecoming Court this year, so don’t forget to vote during the elections. The elections are open Monday, Oct. 1 at midnight to Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 11: 45 p.m. Cast your vote for the homecoming elections.
